Core Values
We are Gospel-Centered
The gospel is at the heart of the Church’s mission - to know it more deeply, to grow and be transformed by it, and to share it joyfully in a world that desperately needs it. We want everything we do to be steeped in the gospel.
We value Diversity
Christ is calling people to himself “from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and languages (Rev. 7:9). We seek to reach and represent the diverse cultures and backgrounds of our community, knowing that this diversity is a foretaste of the beauty of Jesus’ Kingdom.
We foster Deep Community
Christ’s “new” commandment to his people was to “love one another” (John 13:34). By doing so, we reveal the love of Christ to one another and the watching world. We build meaningful relationships with one another, striving to “love our neighbor as ourselves” (Matt. 22:39).
We engage Every Member in the Mission
The mission of Christ is the work of the people of Christ, as he works in and through them. We value the unique gifts and callings of all our members and call everyone to faithfulness to the great commission.
Discipleship Values
Growing as Children of God
All Christians are adopted children of God. We want to grow in the comfort and confidence that comes from this truth, praising God as our good Father. Through worship, the preaching of God’s word, the study of scripture, and prayer, our hearts become more sensitive and alive to this amazing truth.
Growing as Members of the Church Family
All Christians are members of one family through the unity of our older brother, Jesus. We want to grow in our care for and reliance on one another, that we may be one, just as Jesus and the Father are one (John 17:21). Through gathered worship, prayer, small groups, service, and fellowship, we share the love with which Christ first loved us.
Growing as Priests for our Neighbors
The Church is a “royal priesthood,” called to proclaim the excellencies of the one who called us out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Pet. 2:9). We want to grow as those who bring God to our neighbors by sharing the gospel of grace and showing the love of Christ, and as those who bring our neighbors to God through prayer. By equipping members to live this way, we learn to joyfully shine the light of Jesus into the world.
Growing as Servants of our Community
Christians follow a Savior who loved the poor, the outcast, the widow, and the orphan. We want to grow as those who follow his example, knowing that by doing so we show love to Christ himself (Matt. 25:36). Through regular service to our community, we grow in conformity to Jesus, following his pattern of care.
